I was listening to a lot of traditional African music at this time and getting into some altered guitar tunings. They collided and this is what came out.

Words and Music by Doug Pettibone
Days fly by in the wink of an eye
Nights are longer since you told me good bye
Down for the count
Still realin from the blow
Seein stars
Yeah I`im out cold
Hold your cards close to your chest
Give em a little
But your savin the best
The things you said
Still stuck inside my head
And your cool skin lying in my bed
I wanna jump in the water
Let the big river take me
Wrap me in your arms
Please don`t forsake me
I see the curve of your body in the hills of the earth
Feel the beating of your heart
Beating strong like the surf
Am I lyin to myself
Well I hope it aint true
If wishes were fishes
I`d throw a line out to you
I wanna jump in the water
Let the big river take me
Wrap me in your arms
Please don`t forsake me
Thinkin things thru
But it just aint clear
Whiskey sure was warm on the trail of tears
What`s clear to me
Is the things that you do
Will always come creepin back on you
I wanna jump in the water
Let the big river take me
Wrap me in your arms
Please don`t forsake me
I wanna jump in the water
Let the big river take me
Wrap me in your arms
Please don`t forsake me
